Grendel Games will attend this years Game Developers Conference to showcase Diatomic for Nintendo WiiWare to the press and other interested parties.
We have worked hard the last few weeks to present attendees of the GDC with what we think is a good indication of what Diatomic will be like once it is finished.
If you would like to visit us and play Diatomic at the GDC please feel free to get in touch with us (contact details can be found from our homepage).
Hear hear! We are making great progress on “Diatomic” and have officially started spilling the beans on our upcoming WiiWare title. It’s exciting to see how many people like the concept of our game, and we’re hoping that everyone will be equally excited when they get the chance to play it. On the upcoming GDC we will have a booth specifically for that purpose, so, if you’re nearby, do not hesitate to stop by and take “Diatomic” for a spin. Have a look at what the nice people over at WiiWare World see about Diatomic over here:

Amazing. After having been raided by the French with Diatomic, Grendel friend and former co-worker Eelco Braad (check out his blog @http://www.gamedesignanddevelopment.nl/) has hinted us at the existence of footage of Grendel Games at the TGS in Polish! For those of you who don’t understand Polish: It’s basically Tim telling what our game is all about. In the background you can see some Slave to the Blade beta footage, and some Diatomic footage to boot! Thanks for the heads-up Eelco!

Besides the new custom CAREN scenario, Grendel Games has entered a cooperation with UMCG to create a new seriously entertaining game that society might benefit from in the near future. Once more, we can’t divulge too much (we’re so enthusiastic, dear reader, it’s hard for us to restrain ourselves from spilling the beans too).
Anyway, you’re welcome to guess the topic of interest for this new endeavour of ours. Have a go at it in the comments, and win fantastic prizes if answered correctly!
To help you out a bit, we’re tossing in a free url that might put you on the right track!

As some of you might know, we make CAREN (computer assisted rehabilitation environment) scenario’s. Our last job was creating a custom scenario for the MRC (military rehabilitation center) in Doorn. This month Grendel was asked to create yet another custom scenario. We’re afraid we can’t divulge much at this early stage , but it involves helping children cope with cerebral palsy. More on that later!
Together with some fellow Dutch indie developers Grendel Games was present at the Tokyo Game Show ‘08. The international audience got the first look at two titles currently in production, “Slave to the Blade” and “Diatomic”. Famitsu magazine took a glance at Diatomic, and decided it was fun, addictive and graphically appealing. Canal + featured “Slave to the Blade” in their documentary, with an interview and some footage of pre-beta game play. Pictures to follow!
A French TV news station managed to get a first look at an early build of our game Diatomic, which is in development for WiiWare. We still don’t know how they managed to get access to this footage.
Just a small update to tell you that Grendel Games is still rolling and working hard on the projects at hand.
We made a minor update to our website (the ‘Team’ and ‘About’ sections).
Grendel Games will be attending the Tokyo Game Show in October to show ‘Diatomic’ and ‘Slave to the Blade’ to attendees and the gaming press.
Stay tuned for more info on these and other projects.
Grendel Games has been approved by Nintendo as an Authorized Developer for the Wii console!!
We are hugely excited by this news and are now hard at work to develop a game for this platform.
